Bordens Marsh Foundation
Preserving History for Posterity

Our Journey through History
The Bordens Marsh Foundation is dedicated to preserving history of vital significance for our nation's present dilemmas.

“A confidence in the future depends on a reverence for the past.”
Arthur Herman, historian
We deliver heightened knowledge of American history, African American history, and the history of slavery.  Learning programs are open to the public free of charge.  Participants can include students of all ages, educators, members of the community, the greater region, and those from far beyond.
Our Future
Racial tension together with limited knowledge of American history heighten the threat of conflict throughout the entire country.  Education programs at a Virginia Historic Landmark offer high, immediate and sustainable value.  Education in American history and in a little-known documented history in the Shenandoah Valley offers broadened understanding of both history and heritage.

Success for this project will see broader and more fully informed understanding of racial conflict and unease.  It will result in community and regional awareness and measurable positive change poised to spread nation-wide.
